Furthermore (from below) im damn sure that melbourne will not have to pay for its entire 75gl, if they are unable to receive 100% of it, unlike the famers who have to pay for all their water right, regardless of the seasonal alloction. Wake up Mr Brumby, you will have the blood of country victoria on your hands if you allow this pipeline to go ahead.

It is absolutely ridiculous that the government can do this to its own country. Just because we are not Melbourne does not mean we are unimportant. I’m sure this issue would mean more to Mr Brumby were it affecting him directly. We elect the government of the day to represent all our views not only those of the big city. It will be interesting to see the cities reaction when food prices increase yet again as a result the pipeline. All Mr Brumby has done is taken water from an area in desperate need of it and given it to another area….and if it follows the city of Bendigo’s use of the pipelined water for gardens and alike it will cause only more country headaches for the government.
